Most of the rooms have the original carved wooden mantles surrounding colorfully tiled hearths, and the fireplaces, though no longer functional, recall the dedication to craftsmanship that was common when the house was built a century ago.

When you wish for fresh air the veranda rockers, swing and adjacent garden offer a relaxing retreat, as does the back porch furnished with white wicker seating.
